The Durrand Glacier Chalet is where all SME ski-programs start, as it is our main lodge. All guests fly, by helicopter, from Revelstoke to the very comfortable Durrand Glacier Chalet which is located on a very scenic knoll at tree-line, with as perfect view to the Durrand Glacier and the glaciated peaks of the Northern Monashee Mountains. The Durrand Glacier is only a 30 minute walk from the Durrand Glacier Chalet. The Durrand Glacier Chalet is where all SME ski-programs start. Depending on the weather conditions all programs, except the Christmas - New Year week, get a chance to ski from the Durrand Glacier Chalet to the more high alpine Mt.Moloch Chalet as part of our hut to hut skiing.
Location: At the base of the big Durrand Glacier and at the head-water of Carnes Creek in the Northern Selkirk Mountains, 50 km NE of Revelstoke B.C.

Chance that bad weather makes flying impossible: Since 1985 SME has only had to postpone flying, to the next day, one single time due to poor weather-conditions. All our pilots are very experienced mountain pilots who have extensive experience in flying in this area.
